We all start with a small beginning in music. Some of us become good. A few reach the top of their profession, and in so doing, they have the assistance of great tutors, strong peer group support and as a leading musician, the partnership with a perfect instrument.

Perfection in an instrument is often a subjective thing. What one person thinks is a great instrument, another considers "not good enough for me".

Such is the case with the top Trumpet and Trombone players. When you have reached - or are reaching - the top of your profession, it is possible that you have scanned all of the available instruments and find that none exactly suit your needs in every respect. Some parts of this instrument are good and some parts of another instrument are exactly what I want - but not all in the one horn.

It was from this concept that the Edwards program was developed in 1989 to meet the need of professional musicians, who have very specific ideas of how their instruments should sound and feel. These needs often vary for different occasions.
