It may well be that stating the obvious, but the prime requirement of any instrument is its sound.

Well, that's where we start with the Edwards Concept.

Everyone has their own ideas as to what constitutes a good sound, and, everyone is different. What you like somebody else may think totally unacceptable. One may prefer jazz whilst the next person cannot condone anyone having such a preference and talks only of contemporary or classical.

It is those differences which make the true world of music what it is today. A rich tapestery of sound produced by a multitude of players, each expressing their own preference in sound through the medium of their own instrument.
