FOX MODEL 41 BASSOON

This delightful instrument is the choice of so many young players and orchestral bassoonists alike. It is to be found in most of the top schools in Australia and certainly earns the reputation of the finest instrument of its kind in the particular category.

Hugo Fox, principal bassoonist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for 27 years, originally designed this bassoon and produced the unique resonance characteristic in a redesign back in 1970. It has stood the test of time, being one of the most popular instruments of its type for the price. Being of polypropylene it is capable of being bore tuned, a characteristic not often found in the less expensive instruments. Finish	18% nickel silver keys with nickel plating.
System	Full German system with High D available as an option. Plateau key on wing joint third finger hole.
Technical Assistance	Rollers on F, Ab, Eb, Db.
Water Protection	Metal tubes extending into the bore in the finger holes of the wing and boot joints to prevent water from entering the tone holes.
Post Locking	All posts are set with epoxy and spring posts are locked with screws.
Body	Polypropylene, molded with critical dimensions machine finished. Body Lock.
Accessories	Fine plush-lined case, 2 reeds, neck strap, crutch, 2 drop swabs, seat strap.
Intonation	A-440 plus or minus one cent, covering all notes. (Measured at 72 degrees F.)
Bocals	Numbers 1 and 2 C Bore.
