Grenadilla Piccolo

Grenadilla or African Blackwood is the choice of instrument manufacturers in many instruments. The dense hard structure of this very expensive wood allows for the full combination of sounds available from the mechanics of the instrument.

It is capable of the edginess of sound coupled to a rich fullness, a combination resulting in the most pleasing timbre.

Many have tried other materials but always return to grenadilla (Dalbergia Melanoxylon). There is nothing you cannot do with this piccolo — look out Tchaikovsky here we come!
