Yanagisawa Saxophone Necks [Bocals]

The considerable research into the metallurgical aspects of the saxophone has left Yanagisawa with a legacy of knowledge, allowing the production of a range of necks to suit ALL saxophones.

Yanagisawa Brass Lacquered Bocal

The unique manufacturing technique used only by Yanagisawa (this of course may change as the others catch up on technology) allows an unequalled performance from the saxophone to which it is fitted. So often a neck has been fitted to a saxophone of another make only to have the player so enthusiastic about the improvement, as to purchase a complete Yanagisawa saxophone to go with the neck at a later time!

Yanagisawa Sterling Silver Lacquered Bocal

All of the available Yanagisawa neck options come with the ‘underslung’ speaker key mechanism. It is this configuration which is partly responsible for the magic response of the Yanagisawa necks, due to the minimal dampening effect of the quite small support plate for the keywork. The uniform metal thickness of the neck is something which contrasts with the creases that we repairmen find when we unsolder the ribs on the inside of the curve on some other makes, using old fashioned bending techniques.

Yanagisawa necks come in lacquered brass, bronze and sterling silver. The Yanagisawa Elite range is available in the gold plated versions of these three metals. These are truly professional bocals (necks).
