Yanagisawa Saxophones Adjustable Low C# Balance Stopper

Firstly so many saxophones don't even have this mechanism and I can recall one manufacturer who had it and stopped using it. It is thought that the company couldn't ever get it to work properly. Most student saxophones omit this mechanism - and I suspect on the basis of cost in the factories.

The Yanagisawa has this mechanism available on the saxophone you are currently viewing and at the same time, supports the balanced stopper. Describing this facility, the C# being a fairly large pad can be tilted easily if it is pushed one way or the other. The Yanagisawa fits this mechanism in such a way that the positioning of the adjustable actuating mechanism does not throw out the closure of the pad whilst actuating the B-Bb (or A in the case of the baritone).

This whole low C# mechanism provides an articulation of the Bb-C# without the little blip of sound so often heard on saxophones of lesser quality.

Also, the F#-G# mechanism is fitted on some saxophones other than Yanagisawa, with a lever welded onto a pad cup for cheapness. Naturally the F#-G# mechanism on the Yanagisawa is of superior design, and does not tilt the F# pad cup when actuating the articulated G#.
