Metal Reflector

Many saxophones have a metal reflector on the pads. Many provide this facility to take an ordinary saxophone up to the ‘playable’ level. Yanagisawa provide the resonator to enhance the purity and clarity of tone produced in some of their ‘special’ saxophones such as the Silver etc..

The metal resonators are slightly curved providing for maximum reflectivity in the resonance chamber of the saxophone. Some players may feel they are capable of handling a metal resonator on others in the range of Yanagisawa saxophones and of course this is available on custom built saxophones.

I always have the feeling that my Silver with it's metal resonators, plays itself, and perhaps one day I'll teach it to do just that!
