Yanagisawa Saxophones Mouth Pieces

Yanagisawa Saxophone Mouthpieces

All Yanagisawa mouthpieces are hand made. There are two types of Yanagisawa mouthpiece, the metal and the hard rubber or ebonite.

THE METAL MOUTHPIECE

Yanagisawa Metal mouthpiece

is hand crafted from highest quality bell metal and finished with a hard wearing silver. They come in lays (tip openings) from #5 to #9, Baritone and Soprano in #5, #7, and #9.

It provides the player with an 'unbaffled' sound. Often in metal mouthpieces we find a baffle which provides the player with a permanent rough or modified sound. The Yanagisawa on the other hand provides a very free blowing pure sound which the player can mould and form to produce whatever end result he/she chooses. The Yanagisawa provides a freedom of restriction, such that with the same pressure and volume of air the mouthpiece gives an output as much as 30% greater than other mouthpieces of similar lay. A genuine must for the professional player. Ask anyone who plays one!

THE EBONITE OR HARD RUBBER MOUTHPIECE

Yanagisawa Ebonite mouthpiece

again the product of significant Yanagisawa research. Yanagisawa has given us one of the most pure sounds, unencumbered with any fuzziness, foginess, or thuggy sound.

The range of Yanagisawa lays again extends, as with the metal mouthpieces from #5 to #9 with the Soprano and Baritone as above.

The Yanagisawa mouthpieces are perfect for classical rendition and examination performance and at the same time with the choice of appropriate lays can be use to provide the players of altos and sopranos and sometimes tenor with a modern or jazz sound. Again the throughput of air and sound production demands less air with this mouthpiece for the same output compared with many other mouthpieces of similar tip openings. The Yanagisawa sopranino mouthpiece is available on enquiry.
