Mother of Pearl Inlay
The finger button on the spatulas operating the mechanism of the saxophone is in fact made of real mother of pearl.
So many instruments have plastic imitation of this material and do not provide for the extra grip provided by the genuine mother of pearl when perspiration comes between the surface and finger.
This material is of course much harder than its plastic copy, providing the owner with a lasting quality for the saxophone.
The mother of pearl is shaped to provide uniform comfort for the player over the entire saxophone. So thought has been applied, by the Yanagisawa designers to ensure that a player rarely can find a more comfortable saxophone under the fingers than a 'World Finest Yanagisawa Saxophone'.
