Yanagisawa Saxophones Tri-Point Balanced Bell Brace

This feature is seen on saxophones of high quality. It is not often recognised for the worth it provides.

The connection of the bell to the body of the saxophone is of paramount importance for both the mechanical strength of the assembly but more importantly the maintenance of the resonance of the main acoustic column. Naturally the Yanagisawa engineers have recognised this and the detailed positioning of the bell brace is one of the factors responsible for the unsurpassed resonance of the instrument. This resonance is sustained throughout the entire range of the sound production to the most extreme fortissimo.

A little known fact regarding the bell brace is the positioning of the three almost unnoticed 'V' shaped weakening points. In engineering terms this is called a 'stress raiser'. This means that in the sad event that your beautiful and treasured Yanagisawa instrument falls to the floor, it is possible this bell brace will fail at the stress raiser points and in this way save the major and important parts of the saxophone. This allows the repairman to replace the bent bell brace whilst having a much better probability of having lesser damage on the bell or body which are the important parts of the saxophone (albeit damaged).
